Pédagogie collective grandeur nature dans la rue avec United Buddy Bears pour la tolérance des diversités et le respect de chacun

– Les United Buddy Bears forment une vaste œuvre d’art internationale, créée par des artistes venus de plus de 140 pays.

– Ces ours, de deux mètres de haut chacun, sont les ambassadeurs d’une coexistence pacifique.

– Les United Buddy Bears ont pour mission d’appeler à la tolérance et à l’entente entre les peuples, les cultures et les religions. Hommages à l’altérité et aux respects des différences, ils forment un vaste projet de pédagogie collective, un matériau de choix pour apprendre à respecter toutes les différences interindividuelles, les origines et les choix de chacun.

– Chacun d’entre eux représente l’un des pays reconnus par les Nations unies. Chaque ours a été créé par un artiste en hommage à son pays d’origine. On observe que les différents styles, propres aux artistes qui les ont composés, se combinent joyeusement pour former une vaste œuvre d’art.

– Notons que les artistes ont été choisis par les ambassadeurs ou par le ministère de la culture de leur pays. Ils sont pour la plupart venus à Berlin pour y créer leur ours dans un grand atelier et y apposer leur "patte" personnelle. C’est à un véritable tour du monde qu’est convié le visiteur grâce aux Buddy Bears, créations diverses aux couleurs de leur pays d’origine.

– Cet été 2011, ils sont revenus après leurs diverses tournées mondiales dans leur cité d’origine, Berlin. Ils sont exposés sur le Ku’dam.

– The Art of Tolerance The Buddy Bears have travelled to all 5 continents and their journey continues. After Astana and Helsinki the 21st exhibition followed in Sofia. Now the bears are back home in Berlin !

Since 20th June 2001, when the Buddy Bears appeared in Berlin’s streets and squares for the first time, Buddy Bear activities and help for children in need have formed an inseparable unit. Increasingly, individual bears have been auctioned off at charity events in aid of institutions for children in Berlin.

An idea on its tour around the world !

"We have to get to know each other better ... ... it makes us understand one another better, trust each other more, and live together more peacefully."

Under this motto, the UNITED BUDDY BEARS promote living together in peace and harmony on their global tour. Around 140 Buddy Bears (each 2 m tall) represent as many countries recognised by the United Nations.

Since the first exhibition in Berlin in 2002, more than 25 million visitors world-wide have been able to admire the United Buddy Bears.

Message : The Buddy Bears stand together hand in hand in a peaceful circle, promoting tolerance and under-standing among different nations, cultures and religions.

Art and Culture : Each Buddy Bear has been designed by an artist on behalf of his or her native country. The international artists’ different styles are joined together in one work of art, spreading zest for life. The diverse design of the Buddy Bears – always typical for the respective countries – enables the visitors to experience a journey around the globe.

Charity : Buddy Bear activities and aid for children in need have formed an inseparable unit. To date, over 1.723.000 € (June 2011) have been raised through donations and auctions in aid of UNICEF and local child relief organizations.

We offer the Buddy Bear sculptures (sizes : 1m and 2m) at a preferential price instead of the standard price, provided that the buyer transfers a donation via the Buddy Bär Berlin GmbH to a children’s relief organisation for every purchased sculpture. So far today we are proud of the current total proceed of 1.723.000 € for children in need.
